Definition
Acknowledging the validity of an opponent's point before countering it, thereby appearing fair-minded and strengthening one's own position.

Example 1
I grant that the cost is significant. But the cost of inaction is catastrophic.
The speaker acknowledges the opponent's valid point before pivoting to a stronger counter-argument

True, the study has limitations — all studies do. But its core finding has been replicated fourteen times.
Conceding imperfection actually strengthens credibility before delivering the decisive evidence

My opponent is right that jobs have been lost. Where he is wrong is in blaming trade rather than automation.

One of the most distinctive AI patterns. LLMs use concession-rebuttal with extremely high frequency, often with formulaic phrases ('While it is true that...', 'Although X, it is important to note Y'). Serial concession-rebuttals are a strong AI signature.
