Definition
A tone of urgent request that carries emotional vulnerability — the speaker is asking for something they cannot demand and exposing their need in the process. Pleading rhythm uses rising cadence, moderate-to-fast tempo, and pauses that feel compressed by urgency. The rhythm reaches toward the listener, trying to close the distance between them.

AI Detection Note
AI cannot produce genuine pleading tone because pleading requires asymmetric vulnerability — the speaker must expose their need without certainty of response. AI prose maintains a position of authority and helpfulness; it advises and explains but never genuinely pleads. The asymmetry of power in pleading is foreign to AI's rhetorical position.
